How you talk to yourself matters!
When was it?
When was the last time?

When was the last time you said something nice about yourself?

We are extremely negative towards ourselves on a daily if not hourly basis, which is seriously bad for our mental state which effects anxieties, self-esteem, self-confidence, body dysmorphia and more, but when was the last time you were positive about your body?

And I am not talking about "oooh my hair looks nice today" or "I smashed the make up today".
When did you last say something nice about your body? Such as “dam I look good in these jeans!” or “I love how my ass looks now” or “my shoulders are looking really good”.

I am going to take a stab in the dark and say you cannot remember the last time? Am I right?

Ok, If I am right, why do you think that is?

I want you to consider a couple of things if I may?

If I said to your face “you are fat”, “you’re ugly”, “christ lose some weight you disgust me”, you would hate me, never speak to me again, or use my/our services again and probably tell everyone what a dick and how rude I am… yea?

Yet these are the sort of statements you probably say to yourself daily

I’ll let that sit there a moment.

Secondly, we have a fitness and a beauty industry for a reason, and guess why that is…

… Because no matter how long or hard we train or colour our hair of fill our faces with Botox or paint our nails, we are NEVER happy with the way we look! We are always – ALWAYS striving for more, different…

Have a think about that a minute!

Also, take this on board.

Since my “fat” photo made me change my direction and take action (see www.jellyfitness.co.uk/fatme if you haven’t seen it) which is now 20 years ago,
I have NEVER been happy with the way I look. I have always hated my appearance.
I have been super lean, skinny, fit, defined and now bulky, but never happy – why? because that is Human Nature!

Ya know the secret to handling never being happy??

Knowing this is the case and not stressing over it!

But, I DO frequently love parts of my body!

For example, I love my shoulders and legs! I work hard on them, and I can see the changes! Whereas, before I’d zone in on the area’s I hate such as belly. Now I LOVE my legs, my ass and shoulders! And still hate my belly!

This affinity for self-love grows and grows with practice, just as the negativity can grow and grow. Yea, I still hate my belly, just incase you hadn’t realised - but I don’t allow those feelings to take over! I allow myself to say it, think it and then move on!

This has taken time and practice but, IS achievable.

Remember, how you talk to YOURSELF matters!!!

So, over to you, what do you like or love about your body?
