Training Questions and Answers

You are not just buying our time, you are investing in our knowledge, experiences, support and guidance. And ultimately you are investing in your future health. 

Who are the Personal Trainers available? Simon Gunn, Jacqueline Illingworth and Sara Windmill are our trainers, just click on their names and you will be taken to a page all about themselves.

What is the difference between Personal Training and Strength & Conditioning? Personal Training is primarily aimed at non-sporting individuals. People looking for guidance, motivation, encouragement, knowledge and structure with their training. This is mainly fat loss, overall health improvement, pre & post natal and maybe injury rehabilitation. 
Strength & Conditioning training, provided by Simon only, is a more detailed session for those wanting to improve their sporting goals, and overall performance, for example runners or triathletes.

Who can have 1-2-1 Personal Training? Anyone who is well enough to train can have 1-2-1 Personal Training sessions. You will need to be over 16 years old to train with Sara & Jacqueline and over 11 years old to work with Simon. 

I am really nervous, embarrassed, intimidated or feel anxious about going out, what can I do? That is totally understandable and that is what we are here for. We will help you, guide you, support you and encourage you. We do not bite and we have been doing this a long time now, so we understand. Not only that, we as a business have worked really hard to help individuals work on their mental strength and are renowned for our caring, thoughtful and mindful approach. Speak to your chosen trainer about your feelings and we will do what do best, support you. You are in very safe hands. 

What days and times do you have available? You will first need to select your trainer and discuss their availability with them.

How much is 1-2-1 Personal Training & Strength & Conditioning sessions? You will first need to select your trainer and discuss their prices with them. Each trainer has a different pricing structure to allow a budget to suit everyone. 

Will 1-2-1 Personal Training sessions be conducted at client’s houses?
 No. Due to current national lockdown guidance we can only train you outside on our Bootcamp site in Hucknall or via video calls. 

Where will we train? Mainly on the bootcamp site, Wood Lane, Hucknall, Nottingham. Additionally, we have another outdoor site in Hucknall we sometimes use however, you will need to discuss this with your trainer. 

Can we train in a group? NO. Under current lockdown rules we are ONLY allowed 1-2-1 personal training. 

If Ultimate Gym, Hucknall allows 1-2-1 Personal Training sessions to be conducted will this change? At this time no. All gyms are CLOSED until further notice due to the lockdown rules. 

Will social distancing measures be in place during PT sessions? Yes absolutely and not just during the session time, but at ALL times. We have several measures in place to ensure you, our trainers and the community are safe and at ease. 

What about if face coverings and/or gloves are worn? Face coverings are mandatory in areas where close proximity is unavoidable such as shops and on public transport. It would be completely unethical to have clients train using face masks or coverings with increased oxygen uptake required and increased exhaling when physical activity is increased. As trainers, we are more than happy to wear face masks if you so wish. 

What if I want to cancel a session? Each trainer will have a cancellation notice period i.e. 12 or 24 hours notice. If this notice period is not met, the trainer will require payment for that missed session and can refuse to continue until payment has been made. Speak to your chosen trainer for more details. 

What if it rains? Will the sessions still go ahead? Yes, yes! You will get wet and yes they will go ahead. Very simply, wear and bring appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather conditions. We will ONLY cancel through weather when deem it unsafe to take the session, i.e. thunder and lightning storms above or very close to site, severe heavy winds and or dangerous weather conditions. If there is flooding, this will be cancelled too. 

Do you provide sports massage treatment? Yes, we have two therapists.
Simon Gunn, Head coach is our Level 4 Advanced Sports Massage therapist and Sara is our Level 3 Sports Massage therapist.
This service however, is NOT available as yet due to Covid. We believe we are able to return April 12th, this is yet to be 100% confirmed.
